El presidente de la República, Martín Vizcarra, tomó juramento esta tarde al doctor Víctor Marcial Zamora Mesía como nuevo ministro de Salud, quien reemplaza en funciones a la doctora Elizabeth Hinostroza Pereyra.
El Doctor Zamora Mesía es médico egresado de la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM), cuenta con 25 años de experiencia en sistemas y servicio de salud, diez de ellos a nivel internacional en más de diez países de América Latina y el Caribe.
El nuevo Ministro de Sanidad, cuenta con una larga trayectoria en su experiencia laboral, y que figura haberse desempeñado como director regional de Salud de San Martín. Además, ha sido funcionario en organizaciones bilaterales y multilaterales tales como la Agencia de los Estados Unidos para el Desarrollo Internacional (USAID), Ministerio Británico para el Desarrollo Internacional – DFID, el Fondo de Población de la Naciones Unidas – UNFPA, Organización Panamericana de Salud/ Organización Mundial de la Salud (OPS/OMS).
Sobre su estado académico: Cuenta con una maestría en Gerencia, Planificación y Política de Salud (Leeds – Inglaterra), y cuenta con estudios de posgrado en Economía de la Salud cursados en España.
