Las malas perspectivas del COVID-19 y la falta de acuerdos de la OPED induce al pánico en las Bolsas a nivel mundial. El desplome acumulado en las últimas semanas da paso hoy a un descalabro de una magnitud inédita en los últimos tiempos. Las Bolsas asiáticas se han hundido: Nikkei -5%, KOSPI -4%, Shanghai -3%. Las Bolsas Europeas inician la jornada con caída de más del 5%. Los futuros de Wall Street pronostican una caída de otro 5% y en nuestro continente se pronostica fuertes caídas por el contagio. El derrumbe sin precedentes en 30 años del petróleo agrava todas las alertas, El Índice General de la Bolsa de Valores de Lima (BVL) pronóstica una caída similar, y que hasta la fecha ha caído más de 10% en lo que va del año, cerrando el pasado viernes con una cotización del 18.285,94 punto básico.
Las últimas semanas, los mercados globales se vieron golpeados por la crisis que generó la epidemia del coronavirus. En el caso de Wall Street, marcó sus mayores pérdidas desde la crisis subprime de 2008, y que también afecto al El Índice General de la Bolsa de Valores de Lima (BVL).
Los mercados financieros no habían logrado cortar aún la espiral bajista provocada por el impacto del coronavirus cuando se han chocado de bruces con una oleada de ventas en el mercado del petróleo de una magnitud no vista en cerca de 30 años. Sólo en la sesión de hoy, el barril de Brent ha llegado a desplomarse un 30%, su mayor caída desde 1991. En sus mínimos intradía su cotización se ha derrumbado hasta los 31 dólares, sus cotas más bajas desde el año 2012.
La falta de acuerdo entre los miembros de la OPED ha provocado el desplome de hasta el 30% de hoy estuvo precedido por el descalabro sufrido el viernes, cuando la cumbre de la OPEP concluyó sin que Rusia aceptara sumarse al pacto para ampliar los recortes de producción en otros 1,5 millones de barriles diarios. A partir de esta negativa de Rusia se han precipitado los hechos. Arabia Saudí, líder de facto de la OPEP, ha abandonado sus compromisos previos al anunciar que rebajará sus precios de venta y aumentará su producción para evitar seguir perdiendo cuota de mercado frente a países como Rusia y EEUU. Los analistas Goldman Sachs pronostican que el incremento de la oferta en un periodo en el que la demanda cae en picado por el efecto del coronavirus y que llevará al desplome del precio del petróleo hasta los 30 dólares por barril.
