Efecto coronavirus: El dólar se disparó ayer y alcanzó los S/ 3.472
Así, el dólar se cotizó ayer en S/ 3.4720 frente a los S/ 3.465 del jueves, acumulando un alza de casi 5% frente al sol, en lo que va del 2020.
Ante una tendencia del dólar a seguir subiendo (a media mañana), el Banco Central de Reserva (BCR), salió, dos veces, con igual número de swaps cambiarios, (S/ 300 millones en cada oportunidad). Ofreció dólares a cambio de soles, para devolverlos en dos meses, con cierta tasa de interés. La segunda fue declarada desierta porque nadie acudió.
Exagerado. Díaz manifestó que el alza del dólar es una sobrerreacción de los que manejan grandes portafolios en moneda extranjera (bancos y compañías de seguro, principalmente), ante el mensaje presidencial respecto del primer caso de coronavirus en Perú.
“No fue oportuno que salga el presidente a informar un tema que bien pudo hacerlo la ministra del sector. Hizo que la gente se asuste y los tenedores de grandes portafolios de moneda extranjera salgan a comprar, encareciendo el dólar. Perú tiene una gran reserva para hacer frente esta contingencia”, precisó.
Por otro lado, la Bolsa de Valores de Lima (BVL) registró una de las más grandes caídas de los últimos años, pues, retrocedió 2.31%. El nerviosismo de los inversionistas es por el avance del coronavirus en el mundo.
